POLLUTION: CAUSES AND
EFFECTS
Clean
Environment, Healthy Life!
Pollution is one of the biggest environmental problems in
today’s world. It makes air, water, and soil harmful for living beings.
Pollution occurs due to smoke from vehicles and factories, burning garbage,
plastic waste, chemical spills, and loud noises. Human activities are the main
cause of pollution, and its effects can be seen everywhere.
Air pollution is caused by vehicle exhaust, factory smoke, and
burning of fuel. It can lead to asthma, lung problems, and heart diseases.
Water pollution happens when harmful chemicals, plastic waste, or sewage are
thrown into rivers and lakes. This affects aquatic life and makes water unsafe
for drinking. Soil pollution occurs due to chemicals used in farming and
improper waste disposal. It decreases soil fertility and harms crops.
To reduce pollution, we must adopt simple remedies. Planting
more trees improves air quality because trees absorb carbon dioxide and release
oxygen. Using bicycles, public transport, and carpooling reduces air pollution.
Waste should be separated and recycled properly. Plastic use must be reduced,
and cloth or jute bags should be used instead. Factories must follow strict
rules for waste management.
Students can help by keeping their surroundings clean,
participating in cleanliness drives, and educating others about pollution. A
cleaner environment improves health and brings peace and happiness. Pollution
is a global issue, but solutions begin with each one of us. Together, we can
create a cleaner and safer world.
